i need some advice from feminists:

mypetcamel:

I’m sixteen and very religious.  I am a Roman Catholic and though I don’t believe everything the Catholic Church teaches, I stay true to its core values.  I would call myself a proud feminist.  But there seems to be a conflict.  I want to wait until marriage to have sex because I view sex as a gift from God meant for the safe and committed relationship of marriage.  I don’t look down upon those who have sex before marriage and I don’t believe in abstinence only education.  Abstinence is a choice along with safe sex.  I strongly support safe sex education in EVERY school, public or private.  Contraception is a must when a child is not wanted!  Does wanting to abstain conflict with my feminist values?

Not at all! Your life is your own to control and live, and as long as you’re not pushing any of your own personal choices on anyone else there’s no conflict.

There are feminists from all over the world and from all religions and all belief or lack of belief systems. Everyone’s feminism is different and everyone’s choices are different. We just operate under the belief that absolutely all people are equal.
